Domestic Architecture is Lee’s current thoughts on his creative practice. Spatial experience in urban architecture are great sources of inspiration for Lee’s work. He is interested in bringing spatial experience into domestic environment such as living room. Domestic Architecture is planning cities for your own spaces. His creative approach likely to appreciating the atmosphere of spaces, creating relationship of its function and surroundings and finding harmony of forms and materials. On the occasion of his exhibition at Kunstgewerbemuseum (Museum of Decorative Arts) Berlin, Lee is showing his works under his philosophy related to collections of the museum. Works are shown at the exhibition create a scene for a dialogue between intangible body and rational implementation.

Die von Sanghyeok Lee gestalteten Objekte machen neugierig, laden ein zum Betrachten und Benutzen. Sie erwecken zunächst den Anschein, Gebrauchsgegenstände zu sein – Spiegel, Tisch, Regal oder Stuhl. Tritt man jedoch an sie heran und lässt sich auf den Dialog, zu dem sie herausfordern, ein, so merkt man, dass sich hinter der perfekten Verarbeitung, der minimalistischen Gestaltung, der Harmonie von Form und Funktion etwas verbirgt, das erst in der Interaktion mit den Objekten und in ihrer sinnlichen Erfahrung zum Vorschein kommt.Insgesamt fünf Arbeiten zeigt der aus Südkorea stammende Designer Sanghyeok Lee in seiner Ausstellung Domestic Architecture, sie werden an unterschiedlichen Orten im Museum präsentiert.

Sanghyeok Lee’s objects are intriguing and inviting to look at and use. They appear to be everyday objects – mirrors, tables, shelves and chairs. However, when taking a closer look and engaging in a dialogue with the objects, something new is revealed – something hidden behind the perfect workmanship, minimalist design and harmony between forms and function that only comes to light when interacting with and sensually experiencing the objects. South Korean designer Sanghyeok Lee exhibits five of his works, placed and presented in different spots in the museum:
